OBS Digital Campaigning Scheme

This CLP notes:
Following our December 2021 by-election campaign, Old Bexley and Sidcup’s digital marketing has been recognised as one of the leading teams despite having quite a loose structure & little formalised training. A significant part of the work completed in Old Bexley & Sidcup made it into the official Labour campaigning guide for 2022 . We need to develop more opportunities for younger (and young at heart!) members to get involved and stay involved.

This CLP believes:
Young people are increasingly conscious about developing their skills for the working world so if OBS can create a Digital Campaigning Training Scheme and promote that to members as something to get involved with, the CLP can help develop their CVs whilst being invaluable to the Labour Party.

This CLP resolves:
To set up an OBS Digital Campaigning Training Scheme (mostly using official Labour resources that already exist but supported by knowledge from members of OBS Exec).

The OBS Digital Campaigning Team is to be made up of experienced Labour members and supporters who have completed the training scheme.

Inactive members to be encouraged to join.

Exec accountability to be officially provided by the Social Media & Comms officer however with the expectation that other members of the Exec will get involved too.

To allow the Digital Campaigning Team to retain a flexible structure, similar to the existing Social Listening Team that is currently run.

That any social campaigns built by the OBS Digital Campaigning Team to be signed off by the Exec before going live. (Election agent where appointed).
