Conference Delegates
Conditions governing the selection of CLP Conference delegates: CLP Conference Delegates are only eligible if they have not attended conference in the previous 5 years. This applies to CLP, Women’s and Youth Delegates. Youth delegates under 18 years may be accompanied by only one guardian or parent (in the capacity of a CLP delegate or as a visitor paid for by the CLP). Delegates must present a written report to the CLP at the time of claiming Conference expenses. Delegates are responsible for ensuring they meet the conference registration deadlines once selected. The CLP can assist but responsibility lies with the delegate.
Delegates are responsible for booking their own accommodation but must seek the Chair and/or Secretary’s approval for the full cost in advance of booking. All reasonable meals and non – alcoholic beverage as judged by the Treasurer will be refunded. The Secretary will keep a record of all attendees, so the 5-year ruling can be observed.
Reason for Proposal – the CLP encourages all members to experience Conference, with a growing membership the CLP want to ensure that a good section of the membership attend. The CLP also want to encourage younger members to attend and have a duty to ensure that they are suitably accompanied but not at the risk of others who would otherwise attend.
The CLP is keen to receive timely reports from delegates. With a larger membership and extra delegates, expenses need to be pre-determined and reasonable.
